Tooth Colored Fillings

Composite Fillings
If the cavity is small the best way to restore the tooth is a composite filling. Composite is tooth colored, strong, and long lasting and it bonds solidly to your tooth to prevent anything from leaking underneath the filling to start another cavity. A requirement for this type of filling is that enough good solid tooth structure is left to give support to the composite filling.

CEREC Inlays, Onlays, and Crowns
If too much of the tooth is missing to use a composite filling, it can be restored with a ceramic filling. These fillings are are milled from ceramic blocks using CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology. This type of restoration has several advantages:
  • No metal
The crown is made entirely of porcelain so there is no grey metal color that needs to be covered.
  • No temporary crown
The CEREC crown is a one visit restoration. You will leave the same day with the crown finished and cemented into place.
  • Less tooth removal
There is no need to cut away healthy parts of the tooth. We will save all of the tooth that is strong enough to stand on its own and mill a crown or onlay or inlay to replace the parts of the tooth that are missing. Then the ceramic restoration will be bonded solidly to the parts of the tooth that are left restoring it back to its original strength.
